to be a Catastrophe... Katrina
in Anyone's

Life!?

a Homeless Reality Check

observations by
a John Doe Homeless

The tragedy that the victims of Katrina are dealing with is obviously traumatic, but not so obvious is how equally traumatic it is to become homeless without being caused by any of the disasters. Thousands of homeless folks who have been trying to live the best they can within their means. With obstacles hopefully most people will never have to discern how would they deal with, many have been for years even though the loss, not caused by disaster, is still catastrophic in one's life. Although more slowly and without drama, losing life, property, life's worth in general with less physical damage or starling impact still wears constantly and is still traumatic equally disconcerting. Someone else"s Dream!?

. . . and if there aren't enough
natural problems...
While coping with accumulated sometimes overwhelming despair, depression will set in, judgement is impaired occassionally, but to criticize and/or persecute all the homeless for the behavior of a few, is not only inappropriate it but a Federal Court (in April 2006) has ruled that it is a violation of Civil Rights to stereotype, profile, discriminate or commit hate crimes against, or criminally charge someone for just being black, gay, Jewish, or "Homeless"!? These created laws by cities and counties throughout the country, are equally - inappropriate! Making it a crime to "camp in public" as it is often worded by supposedly clear-minded representatives, are not only enhancing the hardships but are violating Civil Rights... and the U.S District Appeals Court agreed!!!
Where should our Priorities be!?

. . . we seem to
create some of our own!?
Unfortunateley, however, some communities (S.F., L.A., and Sonoma County included), if are not stupid, are sooo arrogant as to continue violating Civil Rights in this manner as of Nov. 2008! We're all aware of some of the events resulting from an aftermath, but consider that different people will react in different ways when confronted by a given crisis. Those with inappropriate behavior, behaved inappropriately before becoming homeless was a part of it. Consider this picture representing mankinds general attitude . . . like 2 dogs fighting over a bone on a freeway with a mack truck barrelling down on them - WHERE SHOULD OUR PRIORITIES BE!!?! There is alot more to worry about and most people are NOT aware. See the video explanations at: "CONNECT THE DOTS" on http://homelessreality.org/ and then decide what is important to you AND anyone you may care about. Are You Watching Out?

Are your priorities
in the right place!?

There is a difference - between doing something about
the homeless . . . and
doing something for the
homeless!?
The Watch Dogs
